Belly Putter Shafts
Can you make a regular putter a belly putter?
Can you use the head of a putter and stick a long shaft in it? I ask this cuz i have a good putter but want to try out a belly putter? if so what would that cost?
Yes you can, by heating the hozel of the club head the epoxy bonding the shaft to the head can be negated allowing the club builder to remove the shaft. The builder then can replace the shaft with a long shaft for a belly putter and then install the correct grip. Make sure that the person performing this is careful because they can discolor the club head if the heat is concentrated on one spot for too long. Depending on the number of bends and brand of the shaft, the new shaft should cost $5-15, and the grip should cost around $10. everything on top of that should be the fees charged by the club technician.
