I used to be able to hit the golf ball 200 yards out into the water......?
like I said in the question, I used to be able to hit the ball with my cheap oversized head "garage sale" driver 200 yards out into the great lakes from my yard, before it would slice. Im not worried about the slice, just now I cant hit the ball. I just tried to use my grandpas nike sq driver for the hell of it. I used it, and was swinging way to high. I couldnt get hit the ball to save my life! what should I do? do I need to bend over more?
Hey there, I had the exact same problem as you in the past after a long break from the game. The only way I fixed it was by hitting a ton of golf balls. But if you can't hit a whole lot of range balls, I would suggest bending from the knees slightly, back fairly straight, and to let your arms naturally drop into position in front of you while holding a club. Then slowly make one, two swings. "One," going back, and "Two," going through. You should feel your swing being very fluid with no idiosyncracies. If that doesn't work, head to an instructor asap.
